Pack a Waste-Free Lunch

KIDS: Consider the following when you pack your lunch:

• Use a lunchbox instead of a paper bag
• Use reusable plastic containers (such as tupperware) to pack snack foods
• Instead of a pudding or applesauce cup, fill a reusable container with pudding or applesauce.
• Instead of a ziploc bag, pack sandwiches and chips in a square reusable container.
• Instead of juice box, use a reusable water container and fill with water or juice.
• Use cloth napkins instead of paper - wash once a week.
• Use inexpensive silverware instead of plastic utensils.
• Buy packaged materials that can be recycled - #1 or #2 plastics instead of #5 and #7.
• Pack half of what you think your child will eat - half a sandwich, half an apple, etc. Most children throw away at least part of their food.
